continuity

Grrr. Work net connection is quite slow today. Then again, most things are slow at work these days. Spending my time today reading up on Server Side Includes and watching cute boys stroll by my office window.

I've been thinking a lot lately about design and content... specifically what sort of content I want to put out on continuity.nu. I find myself agreeing with Ben Brown: Who will produce the content—i.e., interesting stuff worth reading that simply isn't a buncha links to weblogs—if all the webloggers are blogging each other? (Since it is fashionable to point to Ben Brown, I won't. He needs no link anyway.)

I read Ben this morning and nodded my head sagely, thinking "I certainly don't do that." Then I re-read the last week of continuity and found that I had blogged other blogs on many occasions. This, despite the fact that I have many, many ideas for essays, journal entries, and other stuff I could also create. It's just easier to write a Blogger entry, typity typity typity POST.

(Yes, I know Ben says "typity typity...." Stole that right from 'im. But again, no link....)

And I'd started a redesign of continuity (redesigning being oh-so-fashionable these days as well). But then I put it down for a few days and decided that it wasn't all that cool. Too dark. Too arty. I can be dark and arty on occasion, but it isn't my normal frame of reference.

So there. No earthshaking conclusions yet. I'm still trying to figure crap out. But, if you drop by continuity on a regular basis, you'll probably see a few changes here and there. Some longer writing. Maybe more pictures. Hopefully some other projects.

So there. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
