continuity

Well, the back yard is a complete wreck now. The pool was excavated Wednesday. It looks to be a lot bigger than I imagined it would be. Very cool.

Imagine our surprise, however, to find the sewer line, which we thought was five feet to the east of the pool, actually runs right through it. Imagine what it was like to discover this only after raw sewage started flushing out into our freshly excavated pool. The pool contractor mentioned to us in passing that he thought he might have destroyed an "old" sewer line. Nup. That was the real thing.

Imagine how thankful we were to find a good and cute plumber willing to re-route (and re-connect) our sewer line on less than one day's notice. (And he's cute too.) The backhoe showed up this morning at 7am, and they're laying the pipe now. Hopefully, I'll be able to shower by tonight.

We are definitely going to appreciate this pool when it's done. There will be much rejoicing, and many pool parties.

Oh, and it's hot here.
