So the DSL switch drama wasn't all that bad.

After finally figuring out the magic number I needed to connect, I managed to get the DSL modem hooked up to the broadband router reasonably painlessly. Can I just tell you how much I love Apple and their zero-conf networking? No "you must restart to complete this installation" nonsense. Plug in and wait a moment for the computer to figure things out, then go. Very cool.

OK, so not quite so easy as that.... but pretty damn close. I'm still cleaning the cruft off of Jason's computer. Uninstalling old modem, removing old DSL software from his computer.... But the ATT Worldnet DSL is way faster than Qwest. I've been so gunshy about "switching" because I didn't want to go thru the hassle. But now it's pretty damn nice.

Jason is en route to Palm Springs as we speak. A weekend out of the heat... no... wait... um, no, actually.
