Back to Phoenix, breathless, exhausted, missing London and thankful for Brian's hospitality. It was a brilliant week with many highlights.

Brian cooked up a storm for Easter, and stuffed us on our last night with monkfish and steak Hungarian. Yum. Lots of English pub food was consumed, and Jason acquired the very British taste for baked beans at breakfast.

Duran Duran was better than expected. Wembley was hot and stuffy and crowded. Our seats were about as far back as you can get from the stage, but it was still a great evening. They stuck to their older stuff for the most part, which was just fine by me. The newer stuff isn't nearly so thrilling.

Spent several hours at Westminster Abbey.... words fail me.

Thursday we took the bus to Oxford in search of cute college boys. Friday we toured the BMW Group assembly plant at Oxford, where the Mini was born. A treat.

Friday was spent cruising the Thames to Greenwich, taking a pile of pictures. It was a beautiful, if windy, afternoon, but we arrived just after the Royal Observatory closed. Our Prime Meridian experience was a bit truncated.

Now, I'm horridly jet-lagged. Couldn't to sleep a wink last night.... Despite that I feel good and glad to be home, and momentarily content.

It's rainy and grey in London. It's also 7:15am, and in the first day of jetlag recovery. Brian kept us going through beer, nibbly things, and stunning Indian food last night. Then we promptly came back to his flat and crashed. I slept reasonably well, considering that my body said "hey, it's only 3pm."

And now, tea.
