Long Downhill Slide

Poof. All of a sudden the days start getting longer and the sun comes up at ungodly hours again. I have a bad feeling about this summer. It's going to be long and hot and unbearable, surely.

Nevermind that it is overcast and windy today.

Pride last weekend. I skipped most of it, as usual. Movies in the park Friday night to kick the weekend off. They inflate a huge drive-in movie screen at the edge of the lake and allow you to picnic on the grass. The Birdcage is campy and funny and probably full of offensive stereotypes, but fun. That was it for my pride festivities, except for brunch on Sunday. A couple of friends have just moved into a new house: all glass and clean lines and mature plants. It looks like it belongs in Florida rather than Arizona. Very nice, and I'm jealous of all their open space. Our next house should be more loft-like, at least in the public spaces.

I liked the parade.
We had great weather (even got a little sunburned), and since they moved it over to 3rd St. you were much closer to the action than over on Central.
