Hee

Red State Airlines. In my head, I can hear this exactly what this should sound like. Someone should record it, a la Shirley Q. Liquor.

Maraschino Cherries

My head hurts.

About once a year, I drink manhattans. Cosmos are too foofy, and sometimes my usual dirty Ketel martini doesn't sound tasty... too salty. A manhattan, served with the necessary chemical-red sphere, is a nice change.

We started with dinner at Fez again last night. It is possible to eat there and not walk out smelling like garlic, but you have to try really hard. The fries liberally doused with salt and garlic are pretty tempting.

Afterward, a couple more at Amsterdam. It was too early for there to be a crowd out, but it was still fun. Although someone needs to explain to me why a bar bothers to have widescreen televisions playing music videos that aren't in any way coordinated with the music. Show something pretty for bored people to stare at. It's just annoying otherwise.

The cherries caught up with me this morning. Ouch.

Ketchup

It feels very quiet around here.

Jason is tearing his hair out over my new obsession.... I've found the Food Network, again. It isn't quite like my favorite British cooking shows, but still fun to watch. Rachel Ray gets on my nerves a little, but she cooks like I like to cook.... lots of stews, one pan meals, and quickly. Dave Lieberman is all googly young cuteness.

He really shouldn't complain, since I'm in the kitchen cooking a lot more. I don't seem to be in any danger of going to the gym, so I might as well have a hobby.

Films

So in lieu of the Superbowl this weekend, I think Jason and I will have an Oscars Best Picture marathon. I actually want to see most of the nominees this year.

We've already checked off Brokeback Mountain, of course. Munich and Good Night and Good Luck are still at the theater, so we'll catch those Sunday. Capote and Crash are on DVD.
